Aftertreatment problems cause more derates and unplanned downtime on modern diesels than almost anything else. The fix is rarely as simple as replacing the part the code names. A NOx efficiency fault can come from a bad sensor, poor DEF, a stuck doser, an exhaust leak or an EGR problem upstream. We test the system and find the actual cause before replacing anything.
Systems we work on
- DPF and DOC. Soot load and differential pressure faults, failed regens, parked and forced regens, and pressure and temperature sensor diagnosis.
- SCR and DEF. DEF quality and concentration faults, dosing valve and doser problems, DEF pumps, lines and heaters, and SCR efficiency faults.
- NOx sensors. Inlet and outlet NOx sensors tested and replaced, with the correct setup for the platform.
- EGR. EGR valves, coolers and differential pressure sensors. EGR problems often show up as aftertreatment faults further down the line.
- Temperature and pressure sensors. Exhaust temperature sensors, DPF delta pressure sensors and their wiring.
Why we repair instead of remove
Emissions equipment on trucks that run on public roads has to stay in place and working. That's the law, and it protects you when it's time to sell the truck or pass an inspection. We diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems. We don't remove or disable them.
Getting a truck out of derate
If a truck is derated, call (513) 377-0831 or send a mobile service request with the codes if you have them. We can usually tell you over the phone whether it's likely a quick fix on site or a bigger job. Once the repair is done, we run the needed regens or tests and clear the derate the right way.
We cover Hillsboro, Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus and the surrounding area. Platform notes: Cummins ISX15, Detroit DD15, Paccar MX-13.
