Not every module problem needs a tech at the truck. When a module won't communicate, was bricked by a failed flash, or needs programming you can't do locally, mailing it to our bench is often the fastest and cheapest way to get running again. We take mail-in work from anywhere in the United States.
What we do on the bench
- Module diagnostics. Power-up and communication testing to find out whether the module itself is the problem before you buy a new one.
- Read and backup. A full read of the module with a verified backup kept on file, so there is always a known-good original.
- Programming. Setting up a replacement module for your truck, VIN and serial number writing where the platform supports it, and calibration updates.
- Module recovery. Modules that stopped responding after an interrupted flash, low voltage during programming or a corrupt checksum. Most come back on the bench.
- Clone to a donor. Moving the data from a damaged module to a good one of the same part number.
How it works
- Send a request first. Fill out the mail-in request with the vehicle, the module part number and what happened. No account needed.
- We confirm. We review it and reply with whether we can do the job, the price, and shipping instructions. Please don't ship a module until we've confirmed.
- Ship it. Pack the module well, include the paperwork we send you, and use a tracked service.
- Bench work. We do the work, verify it, and let you know when it's ready.
- Return. It ships back to you with notes on what was done.
Modules we see most
Cummins CM870, CM871, CM2250 and CM2350 controllers, Detroit MCM and CPC modules, Paccar MX ECMs, Volvo and Mack EMS units, and pickup ECMs and TCMs from Cummins, Duramax and Power Stroke trucks, including Allison TCMs. If yours isn't listed, ask. See also ECM programming.
